This is our film review and as a group we learned some new skills such as layering more accurately and being able to set out a house style more consistently and making it realistic compared to other magazines. We had to then export it to photoshop so we can color correct it. We also created two pieces of film reviews and we are going to do a survey on which one people prefer,

I conducted a survey asking 14 people what colour scheme they prefer for our film review and here the results show that Red , black and white clearly won the vote so we will be choosing that one

We were using adobe photoshop to create our front cover poster and i learned a whole set of skills compared to last year. I learned how to crop and fade text. My layering was more consistent and my positioning and color correction has also improved.

Hamza Ahmed was tasked with with Doing the front cover on Photoshop. He has very good Photoshop skills and obtains a good amount of knowledge on Photoshop

Me(Santhush Halwathura) was tasked with doing the journalism task. We needed a person who was familiar with writing and was skilled and familiar with journalism

Yagmur Celik was tasked with doing the film review layout on indesign as she has had experience with doing that and had proved a good amount of work last year and showed she was skillful.

After only the first day of uploading it to Youtube we have had massive positive feedback. Allready we have 100% thumbs up ratio and over 200+ views. The group is very pleased

Here is the final feedback of our short film, we got really good feedback most of the film had strong positives the only slight negative would have to be the timing however it wasn't an issue.

Today we got feedback from our class. I was very pleased with our feedback as we got more positives than negatives.

Negatives: Acting (However we are not being assesed on acting)
So in conclusion we had perfect feedback but since we had some time in our hand we tried different sounds to try and make it even better

Presenting to the class

Presenting to the class our complete or incomplete music video or short film to get some feed back from the audience for improvements, we were told for our short film to work on our audio and how some parts could fade in to give a more natural flow. Other than that we were finished editing our film. Overall it was a good experience as we got positive feedback.

7. Editing- What i learned so far

It's now been at least a week of editing and I have improved my skills vastly when using this technology. I learned how to crop and cut clips and also add slow motion effects , color correction and also import sound and adjust the sound setting so it flows with the scene

Today we were editing our footage we have completed our clips of what footage we have ...We were working on sound effects during this lesson. We are getting used to the sounds and the final cut pro which is the app used for editing our video.

This media lesson we were planning our case studies deciding which overs to use and how we are going to present them on which technology . I decided to choose Prezi as it works well when presenting ideas and I have personal experience when using this technology

We are now in the process of planning our case studies for our front cover. We had a lesson where we briefly as a group took part in looking at films which are our same genre. However we also sketched how the front cover layout should be. Some Films we looked at were Captain America , Taken 1 , 2 and 3 , Mission Impossible, Casino Royale Inside Man , Hit man etc. All these have a link with our film and here are a few examples

The equipment I used throughout the project was a DSLR CAMERA , sound recorder and mic. I learned how to prepare the sound recorder , set up the mic properly and learned many different functions of the DSLR camera. In fact our group spent a long time getting used to the equipment and it payed off

Here is an example on how we took our signature camera shot that we think is the most diffucult to shoot. By doing this shot it shows that we are creative and innovative.

We have now all arranged with the production team and the actors and time and date where we will shoot Walthamstow Sainsbury's and the park . This was the best suitable location as it matched the storyline and we had a perfect setting to shoot the second part of the film which contains the most action of the film. We have Booked 1 out of 2 of our locations . The first location is where we shoot our office scene in the first part of the film. For this we booked 020 which is located in The Orient House. We chose this as it was simple and it had to be quite cliché which was what were for looking for. Here is some pictures of the setting:

6. Shooting the Video-Letter regarding Shooting in public with the police

Prop used: Pellet Gun 

During our video we were aware with the risk of shooting in public with a Pellet gun due to that fact it could make the public very uncomfortable. We therefore took this into consideration and went to the Metropolitan Police Town Centre in Walthamstow. The police said it was fine and gave us permission with some guidelines.

The following guidelines:
.The pellet gun must not contain bullets whether it be plastic or metal or any sort of object within the gun.
. It must be put away out of sight when finished filming.
.The trigger cannot be pulled in any circumstances.
.Failure to follow these guidelines will result in prosecution.

We took these guidelines very well into consideration and followed these steps. In addition the two main reasons which made the police comfortable was the fact the the actual pellet gun itself could not function properly in any way and was completely disabled and we kept a sign saying "Filming in Progress" which made the public feel more comfortable. Which is why the video shoot went efficiently and safely .



For safety we took permission from our local police before using the prop so that without any concerns we would have a proof if any concerns would arise.
